Older Americans Now Expecting To Work Longer
It’s not because they would get bored on the golf course, it’s more a result of the economy and their financial futures.
According to data from the Employee Benefit Research Institute, many more older Americans expect they will have to work longer to accomplish their retirement goals; many in fact, do not plan to retire. The study shows it maybe tied to realizing the economic landscape is not one where they can afford to stop working, coupled with longer life expectancies. In layman’s terms, many older Americans either cannot afford to retire, or because of rising costs, the economy and uncertainty about their economic future, are afraid to.
