One-Car Flip Accident Kills Juvenile Near Pasco on I-182

Around 7pm last night, the Washington State Patrol and Pasco units responded to a one vehicle flip accident on Interstate 182, near the 20th Ave. Exit

WSP troopers say the eastbound Cadillac SUV flipped over after the driver, 18-year-old Ruby Gomez, lost control. She struck the concrete jersey barrier and flipped the vehicle on it's top. She was taken to Lourdes Medical Center and was said to be in serious condition.

An unnamed male juvenile who was riding with her sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland but later died. KEPR-TV reports the juvenile was conscious when crews arrived but did not survive.

Some news reports indicate one or perhaps both of the occupants were not wearing seatbelts, but the WSP has not confirmed that.
