Authorities are still investigating what caused an Othello man to veer off the road and crash after he was let off with a warning from a traffic stop in Idaho.

54-year-old Gerardo Pena Garza was stopped by an Idaho State Trooper Wednesday morning near Caldwell on I-84.   Idaho State Police didn't say why he was pulled over, but that Garza was let off with a warning.

As Garza drove away, the trooper saw him travel about a half a mile, then suddenly veer off the road to the left, across the median and oncoming traffic, before coming to a rest in a marsh.

Paramedics were called to the scene, but he was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.  No other information has been released.
