Own This Chair? National Home Depot Recall Due to Falling Apart Issues

This line of popular swivel lounge chairs sold exclusively at Home Depot are being recalled across the country due to several hundred reports of them abruptly falling apart, spilling their occupants onto the ground or floor.

Brown Jordan Services has issued the recall of the Hampton Bay Fall River Swivel Dining and Lounge Chairs because since their inception, there have been nearly 400 reports of them breaking from normal use.

Reports indicate of the 400 incidents, many of them resulted in people actually falling out of the chair and hitting the ground, and there have been 16 reports of people sustaining injuries.  According to consumer website, the base of the chair where it swivels, can break, tipping the entire chair onto the ground.

According to Brown Jordan Services, who markets the chair, don't take them back to Home Depot, BUT contact their special website set up to receive a repair kit, or they can call the company at (855) 899-2127.

A search of multiple consumer sites online did not make any mention of refunds or returns, but as in the case of most consumer recalls, it's likely if the consumer does not want the product, they can return it and get a refund.
