Pasco Fire Fighters Quickly Suppress Brush Fire Off A Street

A brush fire filled A Street with police and fire vehicles Monday afternoon.

Halfway between the Blue and Cable bridges, a brush fire erupted near the dike and canal. It was quickly contained and Pasco Battalion fire officials say they suspect transients.

While it is too early to say for sure, there has been transient activity in the area and similar fires have started the same way.

“Someone has been spending quality time under the trees,” joked a Pasco Fire Battalion official.

The fire was lit for warmth or to smoke and “got away from them.”
