Kennewick police apprehended a Pasco man who used a Taser to help him shoplift from the Kennewick Ranch & Home Store Thursday evening.

Sgt. Ken Lattin reported 22-year-old Justin N. Barrett of Pasco entered the store around 7:25 p.m. and appeared to have stolen an electronic scale. When confronted by store security, he displayed a Taser, and threatened to use it on the workers.

He fled the store on foot, then was seen walking on Clearwater and Union streets where he was promptly arrested and taken to the Benton County Jail. There was no word if Kennewick police had to use a Taser on him.

He is facing 2nd degree assault charges as well as theft for the attempted shoplifting.
