This week Pasco citizens offered alternatives for the failed aquatic center at public forums at TRAC and the Pasco Senior Center.

City officials heard from a few dozen residents who suggested Pasco build its own water park -- a scaled-down version of the one citizens rejected last August.

Franklin County was the only one to approved the 1/10th of a percent sales tax to pay for it. The measure passed handily in Pasco, but was soundly rejected in Richland, Kennewick and Benton County.

However, city officials said even with a 2/10th percent tax, there still would not be enough funding to build a smaller center for Pasco.
