Pasco City Says It Can’t Afford to Build Water Park
This week Pasco citizens offered alternatives for the failed aquatic center at public forums at TRAC and the Pasco Senior Center.
City officials heard from a few dozen residents who suggested Pasco build its own water park — a scaled-down version of the one citizens rejected last August.
Franklin County was the only one to approved the 1/10th of a percent sales tax to pay for it. The measure passed handily in Pasco, but was soundly rejected in Richland, Kennewick and Benton County.
However, city officials said even with a 2/10th percent tax, there still would not be enough funding to build a smaller center for Pasco.
