Talk about your advanced-placement program!

A talented Pasco teenager is excited about school this fall,  largely because she will spend it as a freshman in college!

14-year old Lynnae Glaesemann will be spending the year at Mary Baldwin College in Virginia, starting in late August.  Glaesemann is no stranger to academic achievement,  she took the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) in  7th grade after her academic scores showed she was well advanced for her age.   Most students don’t even consider the test until they are a sophomore in high school.

By winter semester of her 8th grade year, she was attending freshman classes at Chiawana High School.  Her Measure for Academic Progress (MAP) test scores also qualified her for the Center for Talented Youth at Johns Hopkins University, AND earned her honors through the Duke University Talent Identification Program.

With those achievements in mind,  Glaesemann and her family began to explore collegiate programs.  There are only three schools in the U.S. that offer studies for students younger than age 15.   One of them is Mary Baldwin College.

Not only was she accepted into the school,  she has been awarded a $16,500 academic scholarship for each of her four years at the school – a total of over $48,000!

She has also been active volunteering for a number of community programs from the Second Harvest Food Bank to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, and is also a participant in the Young Marines Program.

We look forward to hearing updates from this remarkable young resident of the Tri-Cities as she pursues her academic dreams.

She then
