Unlike many incidents like this, the mother didn't walk off and forget her child, but it didn't make the situation any less stressful.

Monday afternoon, the mother called 911 after discovering she had locker her vehicle by accident with her keys inside.

The woman had planned to do some shopping but as she exited the vehicle, the door shut behind her and locked. Police were able to break out the front passenger window after other efforts to access the vehicle failed. The toddler was in a car seat in the back seat of the van.

The child was only in the vehicle for a few minutes, but was already getting upset. Both child and mother were said to be fine after police opened the vehicle. Temperatures that afternoon were near 100 degrees, and are expected to remain hot the rest of the week.
