Two people have been arrested, a third is being sought, in connection with a spree of passing fake money around Kennewick and the Tri-Cities.

23-year-old Nicolle Christian Sutherland of Richland was arrested Highway 395 and  late Thursday evening, when an employee alerted them that she allegedly tried to pass a counterfeit $50 bill. She had left the store by the time police arrived.

However, she was traced to the Econo Lodge across the highway, and was located and arrested. Police then arrested 20-year-old Eric Nelson Presson, who is reportedly involved with the counterfeiting operation. He was located in the 100 block of Conway Street.

Security footage, say police, shows Sutherland tried before to pass fake money at the store. She's facing multiple counterfeiting and forgery charges.

Now, police are trying to locate 60-year-old William Vernon Price who is believed to be also a part of the operation. Anyone with any information is asked to call Kennewick police at (509)-628-0333.

The three are believed linked to the recent spread of fake money in Kennewick. Their behavior matched that of other suspects who tried to purchase small items with large bills, resulting in getting a lot of change back.
