Friday, Kennewick police issued a statement indicating they are going to release new information about a homicide that occurred on 9-11.

Sergeant Randy Maynard said Friday morning a release will be put out with new information and updates on the incident, which occurred in the 1500 block of West 7th place.

Shortly after 1pm that day, September 11, police responded to a report of a shooting. They found Martin Ibanez, who was last known to be living Pasco, had been fatally shot.

Officials say a thinly built Hispanic man believed to be in his 20's was suspected of shooting Ibanez at the residence. He died after being taken to TRIOS ER. The suspect is believed to have driven off in a white or cream colored sedan. Little else was known at the time.

We will update this story as the new information is released.
