Richland police say they arrested a 54-year-old woman in the area of Compton and Spengler Roads Wednesday morning after getting a report of a person throwing bricks in the street.

Arriving on the scene, police heard cries for help coming from a home on Compton in the area. They rushed inside to find the female victim suffering from a head wound. Police said the victim said she found the suspect inside her kitchen, going through her drawers and cabinets. The noise had awakened the victim.

When she confronted the suspect, identified as Julie Bennett of Richland, Bennett allegedly hit her in the head with a "hard object" possibly a brick.

Police located Bennett as the person throwing bricks, and she was taken into custody on an investigative hold. She's facing at least 3 charges, including one for Felony Harassment. No mention if she was given a psych evaluation for her behavior.
