A Richland man will go to prison for 35 years, closing the case of one of the most sad and shocking murders in recent Tri-City history.

Lawrence Miller was sentenced for the September, 2013 murder of his girlfriend, Rebecca Vandeventer.  Miller stabbed her more than 30 times, stomped on her chest in their Richland apartment,  according to the autopsy she lingered for some time before bleeding to death.

Numerous counts were brought against Miller, including four counts of deliberate cruelty and domestic violence besides the murder charge, because the assault was committed where her three children could see and hear it.
