Five juveniles are in custody, accused of causing over $7,500 in damages.

Richland police reported Monday a citizen tip about a suspicious car in the South Richland area over the weekend led to officers arresting five teenagers.

Saturday, the officers found the car with five teenagers sitting inside.  After a thorough investigation, police were able to link the teens to over fifty acts of vandalism and other crimes in South Richland, Kennewick and other parts of Benton County.

The crimes included, according to Richland police:

"...arson, smearing of feces on residences, and striking mailboxes and street lights with baseball bats.  Damage is in excess of $7500."

According to officers, these are NOT the same youth who were arrested a few weeks ago for another spree of similar crimes.    The ages of the youth were not released, and officials did not specify if they were boys or girls, or a mix of both.
