Richland Saw No Murders in 2012 According to New Report
The Richland Police Department reported on the 2012 year to the City Council yesterday. In 2012:
- There were no murders or non-negligent manslaughter cases.
- There were 13 robberies.
- 265 collisions were investigated.
- 2,175 traffic stops occurred resulting in 1,598 issued infractions and 577 verbal warnings.
- The bomb squad responded to 31 regional calls which involved suspicious packages, old dynamite, grenades, and pipe bombs.
- 3,474 items were logged into the evidence and property room.
- Reserve officers volunteered 2,308 hours.
- Members of Volunteers in Police Service logged 6,518 hours.
Overall crime in Richland for the 2012 year was lower than 2011.
