Kennewick police say a restaurant/food store in the complex at 5610 West Clearwater was robbed late Wednesday afternoon, but the victim/clerk was too scared to call police until Thursday morning.

Police say the suspect entered the establishment between 4:30 and 5pm, claiming he had a gun, demanded cash, then fled. The victim said he was a white male, average height, wearing all black clothing.

The victim told police they were hesitant to call because of a "comment" the robber made as he was leaving. Most likely some sort of threat 'if you call police' you will be harmed or even killed.  Police didn't specify which establishment but the strip mall has a Laotian and Mexican restaurant located there.

The investigation continues.
