The Ironman Triathalon is 143 miles of swimming, biking, and running that has reduced many a competitor to jelly. But not this little fellow...

Panasonic Coporation of Japan, along with help from some other IT developers, plan to enter their less-than-a-foot tall robot in the Ironman Triathlalon.  The tiny green robot, named Evolta, has already climbed the walls of the Grand Canyon, walked 310 miles from Tokyo to Kyota, and other feats.  Now he is being retrofitted with three different sets of appendages that will allow the battery powered creature to compete in the Ironman.  Tech officials estimate it will take him about 168 hours to complete his mission, but if he does,  scientists say it will result in numerous other breakthroughs and applications for robot use in our everyday lives.
