In the wake of a Monday afternoon fatal crash, authorities say charges are pending for a Richland school bus driver.

Around 4:00pm, the bus was westbound on Van Giesen, driven by 46-year-old James Fleming. The motorcycle, ridden by 59-year-old Douglas A. Walters of Kennewick was headed east.

Fleming starting making a left turn, and crossed in front of the motorcycle. Walters struck the bus, and was killed. The accident occurred on Van Giesen west of Highway 240. One student was on the bus, but they were not hurt, nor was Fleming.

The Washington State Patrol says Fleming failed to yield right of way to the motorcycle, and charges are pending.
