Residents living near a strip club in North Seattle woke up this weekend to find a large videoboard outside that gives everyone a glimpse of what's going on "inside." (Pictured is a transportation van being used by the club for patrons - courtesy of familiesforlakecity.com)

The club, "Dreamgirls at Ricks,."   now has the large sign towering over it's parking lot, and besides flashing advertisements about activities and events, also shows passing drivers, pedestrians and neighbors what's going on inside the club - as in the dancing girls.

While the glimpses of the "dreamgirls" don't contain any naked images, they leave little to the imagination.   Neighbors living across the street are furious, according to Northwest Cable News.  They say their children don't need to be treated to video of pole and lap dancing 24-hours a day.

But what really has them incensed is that Seattle development officials had to sign off on the idea before Rick's could put up the sign.   KING-5 TV said they hope to talk to whoever's responsible this week.

Area residents near the club, located next to 115th. Ave and Lake City Way, say they've been working hard to restore and improve the neighborhood's reputation - and now this.

Attempts to contact the club owner and managers for comment were met with, according to media sources, "no comment."

A group called Families for Lake City  sent a letter to Mayor Ed Murray concerning the permit for Rick's as well as other digital signage that was approved for car dealerships in the suburb of Lake City. They were concerned about the impact these signs will have on drivers and traffic safety, be creating distractions.

They also are against the controversial digital sign outside the strip club.
