Oregon State Patrol officials say two men are in critical  and serious condition after a serious crash about two miles west of Stanfield, OR near Exit 182 off Interstate 84.

Monday, a car driven by 20-year-old Markus Smith and a 13-year-old male passenger, both of Boardman, were stopped at the stop sign near where Exit 182 leaves the Interstate.

Smith pulled out onto Highway 207, but did so in the path of an oncoming semi, driven by Kevin Helzer of Hermiston. Smith's car sideswiped the semi, spinning it into the path of another semi truck headed the opposite way.

Smith and the passenger sustained serious injuries. The boy was airlifted to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, then flown to Sacred Heart in Spokane. Smith was taken by ground ambulance to Good Shepard Hospital in Hermiston. He's listed in serous condition, the boy is critical.  The helicopter seen here is taking the boy to Kadlec in Richland.

No other details have been released about the accident, the investigation continues. Neither of the two semi drivers were injured.
