Police from Yakima to Tri-Cities will be watching pawn shops and other online sales ads after someone (or a group of people) smashed through a door window and stole over $10,000 worth of computers and electronics donated to a Yakima non-profit group.

Yakima police and KNDU-TV report Wednesday night the windows were broken at La Casa Hogar and somebody  stole equipment slated to be donated to various groups.

La Casa is an non-profit organization that helps provide computers, printers, and other digital and electronic equipment to help in educational programs for children, early leaning programs and adult education throughout the county. The organization recently celebrated it's 20th anniversary in Yakima.

Officials say fortunately they are insured, but will have to file claims to try to replace the two computers, brand new printer and TEN laptops that were taken from the building on Sixth Street.

Fortunately, the information on the computers is protected by a backup server, say officials, so the computers are inaccessible, unless someone can wipe them clean and reload the operating systems. The investigation continues.
