Extreme rain, and slick roads are being blamed for the Volvo semi sliding sideways, then jacknifing on the offramp leading up towards Kennewick off the Blue Bridge southbound.

The truck spilled dozens of large apple crates, that covered the embankment next to the road.  Traffic was snarled for nearly four hours during the clean-up.

Traffic finally began moving slowly around 9am, but cars were still be detoured away from the area as late as 9:45am. According to weather reports, the Tri-Cities has received over an inch of rain since last night, in the last 12-plus hours, Walla Walla got over two.

Rainy weather is expected off and on until at least Friday.
