With all the buzz over Facebook unveiling new emoticons instead of just the 'like' thumbs up, we thought of a few we'd like to see implemented as standard procedure.

Some are in existence, some would need to be created, but these would either add humor or throw gas on the fire of a discussion-depending upon the people involved.

As you probably know, Facebook added a 'heart,' shocked face, angry face, sad face, happy face and thundercloud face you can comment on posts with.  We at Newstalk welcome the change, it's far better to use the sad face when commenting on somebody's dog getting run over than giving them a big "thumbs up!"

But there are emoticons or emojis we feel would be great to add. We've heard rumors that Facebook at one time had a fly the bird 'middle' finger icon, but it's gone.  Some say there's a complicated secret way to bring up the flipping you off emoticon.  We found a picture of one a while ago, and think this should be an option. We actually saw this displayed by a friend of ours on Facebook:

Or when the mood strikes, how about letting people know you're just hanging loose and feeling pretty good?  There's actually a number of Facebook pages devoted to this hang gesture, which has it's roots in Hawaii.  And of course, there's actually a website where you can copy and paste emojis. But some of these we think need to be implemented as part of Facebook.  And while they're at it, how about a "you've fallen and hit your head again, havent' you?" emoticon for when people say something stupid? There are others, but some we can't say here in this article.
