Authorities say drinking and excessive speed led to an accident in Pasco Tuesday night.

33-year-old Nicole M Minugh was taken into custody after the accident near Ainsworth and Dock Streets in Pasco. Police say she was drinking and was speeding when she crashed into a Pasco city sign, injuring her passenger.

Her Toyota Tacoma pickup was badly damaged when it hit a Port of Pasco sign. Apparently a concrete base caused the sign to yield very little, destroying the front end of the vehicle.

Her passenger suffered fractured ribs in the collision, Minugh was booked into the Franklin County jail on charges of vehicular assault, due to the injuries to her passenger.
