Authorities say they are still searching for witnesses to help identify the vehicle that killed a pedestrian Sunday evening.

Sometime before 6:15 p.m., 58-year-old Michael Robinson was crossing Columbia Center Boulevard between 4th and 5th streets when he was struck. That portion of the road is south of the intersection with Clearwater and the Hapo (flashcube) building.

Police say Robinson was found lying on the shoulder unconscious by a passerby. Despite the quick response of EMT's and other emergency crews, He was pronounced dead at the scene from what is believe to be a head injury.

Police have learned he was likely walking home from having attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church evening service. He was believed to be walking to his home on West 5th. Ave. and was crossing mid-block.
