Stevens County Sheriff's officials say the cabin belonging to a Spokane family has been recovered, still intact.

According to the Spokesman Review newspaper, Chris Hempel said she and her family drove to their getaway cabin Tuesday of this week, and found the entire structure was missing!

It's not uncommon for vacationers to find their recreation homes or cabins broken into, especially if they are in very remote areas.  But Hempel says the entire 10 by 20 foot structure had been removed from it's foundation.

But after receiving a tip later in the week, Stevens County Sheriff Kendle Allen said his deputies found the structure about ten miles from it's original location, not far from the small town of Springdale.  Springdale is about an hour Northwest of Spokane in remote Stevens County.

Officials suspect whoever took it had to have access to a large trailer, to handle the size of the building, and equipment big enough, or a lot of people to move the structure off it's foundation.  They suspect a "team effort."

The cabin had been placed on stilts and was sitting at the end of a private road outside of the small town. Officials think whoever stole the structure was living in it.  A search warrant has been obtained to search the structure.  Allen says they've identified potential suspects, but declined to name them publicly.
