Police are still searching for the suspect, but chances are they're probably looking for clean underwear after nearly sailing off a cliff in south Kennewick Wednesday night.

The bizarre incident began when police received a 911 call from a resident in the 3100 block of South Everett Place just before 10pm. They reported seeing a car go by at a high rate of speed, then into the cul-de-sac and nearly off into the ravine!

Police arrived, and found a stolen Honda Accord, sitting on the edge of the cliff, with the engine still running. Reports indicate the car was 'teetering' on the edge, and could have easily gone over.

According to police, it appears the driver was speeding through the neighborhood, but didn't know the road ended in the cul-de-sac. The car went blasting over the curb, down a shallow hill before the driver was able to stop right on the edge. The car had some suspension damage and a shredded right front tire.

A check of records shows the vehicle was reported stolen to the Benton County Sheriff's office back in February.

Now, the search is on for the driver-suspect.
