Authorities in Troutdale, OR say one student is dead after a shooting at the high school Wednesday morning.

According to Northwest Cable News Network,  a SWAT Team was searching and clearing the school building shortly after 11am Wednesday.  The cable news network reported:

"The student who was killed is believed to be the only student injured in the shooting but SWAT is still searching the building, according to the Multanomah County Sheriff's Office. MCSO also confirmed that shooter is dead."

Few other details have been released except that police were notified and called to the school shortly after 8am.  A medical helicopter had landed nearby, but witnesses say it had not taken off with any patients. Students Tweeting inside the school reported hearing shots fired, another said the school was in lockdown.   Some said they saw police racing towards the school gym.

Authorities said the shooter was also dead.   They didn't say if they were killed by police or how the person died.

Reynolds High School, where the shooting took place, is in Troutdale which is less than ten miles west of Portland, OR.
