Suspicious Fire Near Playground of Dreams Investigated

Early Memorial Day, police and fire units investigated a strange dumpster fire next to the Playground of Dreams in Kennewick.

Shortly before 2am, crews were called to the parking lot, where they found this fire blazing in a dumpster.  No damage was sustained by the facility, but the size of the fire certainly made it suspicious.

Authorities didn't say if they believe it was arson, but upon arrival KPD says the dumpster was "fully extinguished" in flames, and the dumpster was destroyed. Officials say it's unfit for further use.
