Ever seen politicians giddy about forwarding a tax that could raise gas prices anywhere from 9 to 20 cents per gallon?

Now that Democrats control both State Houses, environmental groups seeking to push through tax.

Much of the election attention in Washington state has been focused on minimum wage and other workforce issues, including I-1433, which would raise the minimum wage statewide, and force all businesses to offer paid sick leave, regardless of the number of workers. But there's another measure on the ballot that's going to affect all Washintonians.

This fall, Washington voters will be asked if they want to have their wallets hit with the nation's first ever carbon, or pollution, tax. Yet, a number of environmental groups are against the idea. Before you start thinking they're pro citizen or business, read on.

An influential WA State Senator plans to head off Gov. Jay Inslee's proposal to create some sort of carbon tax or cap-and-trade plan by using the Department of Ecology.
