After nearly 18 months of delays, legal tussles, and financial questions,  pot stores finally opened in Washington state July 1st 2014.   And with that came a slew of city and county bans, lawsuits, and more upheaval.

Since Washington voters legalized recreational marijuana in 2012,   there have been indications the number of impaired motorists has risen, due to using pot before getting behind the wheel.

According to a June, 2014 survey conducted by the Washington State Traffic Safety Commission (WSTSC), nearly 3 out of ten drivers participating indicated they use or have used pot within a few hours of driving.   But the real shocker is that of those who do,  62% don't think marijuana impairs their ability to drive.

0-4 isn't a good day at the office in baseball,  or in the courts.

Now that pot is legal in Washington and Colorado,  officials are cautioning parents not to let their children have "home-made" candy, and to watch out for what are called "cannabis sweets."

The Washington Traffic Safety Commission has asked the state legislature for yet another "fix" for legal pot.

It was supposed to be a win-win.    People clamoring for their weed would be able to legally smoke it,   the state would sell it making millions and millions in revenue, the debt would shrink, and everyone would be happy. It's not turning out that way.

Most of us don't get liquored up before we drive...conversely, most wouldn't think it's a good idea to smoke pot behind the wheel.   (Kevin Ward Jr?)  But apparently it's not illegal, so one group is seeking to change that.

According to a shocking report released Wednesday afternoon, Tony Stewart has been cleared of wrongdoing in the tragic death of sprint car driver Kevin Ward Jr. in part because the District Attorney's report says Ward was high on marijuana!

Tuesday evening, the Prosser City Council will decide if they will keep the folks at Altitude the happiest in the basin, for at least a little while.
