The Tri-City Americans are off to a great start in a shortened 2020-21 WHL season. They took the Portland Winterhawks to overtime on Thursday and sent them out of Toyota Center empty-handed with 48.3 seconds left in overtime.
It didn't seem like this was Tri-City's first game in 375 games...
Under current Phase 2 rules, only 200 people allowed at sporting event-venues. Applies to WHL, HS and other sports. Commissioners pushing to get that raised.
After losing the fall season, the MId Columbia Conference opens tonight with a slew of games. But remember, don't expect to pile into the stadiums, due to COVID restrictions.
HS and MS programs beginning February 2nd with practices for boys-girls soccer, dance and cross country. Area youth baseball, football leagues also planning, and small college football (some of it) back in February.
