Utilizing their speed and a suffocating press, the Tri-City Americans outscored Everett 10-3 in their first two games to jump to a lead in the WHL Playoffs.

The Americans, after exploding to a 7-2 win Friday, held Everett in check 3-1 Saturday.  Saturday's game was a much more physical affiair with the 'Tips committing a number of serious penalties.  The Americans had two five minute majors during which they scored their three goals.  Everett also had several ten minute misconducts, and to game misconducts-or ejections.

Depending upon the seriousness of the infractions, game misconducts often come with a one-game suspension during the playoffs.  The Ams outshot the Silvertips by over a 2-1 margin in the first two games, and put together one of their most complete weekends of the season.  The rough play of the Silvertips could result in an injury to defenseman Drydon Dow of the Ams, he was checked from behind into the boards and left the game with an apparent wrist or hand injury and did not return.

The Ams head to Everett for games 3 and 4 Tuesday and Wednesday.  Should they sweep, the next action for Tri City will come April 6th.  Should they split, The Ams will come back home for a March 31st game.  Be sure to listen to the games on Newstalk 870, and we stream them here on the website.
