Like many holiday foods and treats, the debate rages about Easter. What are the most popular treats?

The results might surprise you.

According to a national survey conducted by noted business observer RetailMeNot, here's the top five:

  1. 32% crave Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Eggs
  2. Cadbury Creme Eggs 17%
  3. Cadbury Jelly beans 16%
  4. Chocolate bunnies (hollow, filled or otherwise, various brands) 10%
  5. Peeps(!) 6%

We were kind of surprised by that one, perception is Peeps are so popular, especially with all the new flavors that keep being presented. However, the RetailMeNot survey said 73% of responders said they flat-out hate them. Guess the 23% consume an awful lot of them, as they are one of the better selling candy.

Regardless of your favorite, just make sure you don't hide any chocolate or other 'decomposable' candy indoors and forget where it was.  Oh, it won't really smell, but soon the trail of ants across the floor will remind you.

Easter egg and candy hunts are best done outdoors, we think.

Happy Easter everyone!
