Seattle police have apprehended three juveniles in connection with last week's deadly shooting at a homeless encampment that left two people dead, and three badly injured.

Monday afternoon authorities said a 13, 16 and 17-year old were taken into custody, reportedly discovered hiding underneath an overpass. No other information about the suspects was released.

The evening of January 26th, police responded to reports of gunfire in an area known as "The Jungle," and found 45-year-old Jeanine L. Zapata and 33-year-old James Q. Tran fatally shot.  Three other victims are still recovering at Harborview Medical Center.

Police did say they believe the shooting was centered around a drug deal that went bad. Who was dealing and who was receiving the drugs was not revealed, the investigation continues.

The drug deal connection would explain why police said the shootings were specifically targeted at certain people in the homeless camp. The Jungle has been a dangerous and 'out of control' area for decades, according to some city officials.
