You gotta hand it to them, it takes guts to ask.Perhaps because of the candy hangover or because trick-or-treating is hard work, but fourth graders at Calvary Christian School in Kennewick started a petition to cancel class Nov. 1!

Cavan Bower started the petition because he would be attending the school's Harvest Carnival, then trick or treating that evening. The idea took off and administrators discovered dozens of student signatures on the petition.

While it didn't result in a day off,  teachers (perhaps admiring their spunk) will allow the students to wear pajamas to school and start the day with a movie.
