Already missing numerous key players due to injury, now the Americans will be without goalie Eric Comrie for a number of games.

Comrie, who backstopped Team Canada to help win the gold medal at the recent World Junior games, is suffering from a nagging lower-body injury he aggravated in the tournament. He will miss at least the next two games vs. Kelowna Wednesday and Vancouver Friday.

The Americans are not just battling inside the U.S. Division, they have their eye on the Giants as they and Vancouver battle for upcoming playoff spots. The WHL takes the top 8 teams in each conference, regardless of division.

Already missing Vladislov Lukin, Parker Bowles and Braden Purtill on offense, and Defenseman Riley Hillis, the Ams must now continue to lean on young netminder Evan Sarthou. He's one of, if not the youngest, goalies to see extensive playing time in the entire WHL.

To help restore some depth, GM Bob Tory has recently traded for Forward Tyler Sandu from Red Deer, and Carter Cochrane, plus brought up some affiliate players to fill in.

Bowles, Hillis and Comrie will hopefully return within the next 2-3 weeks for the Americans.
