The Tri-City Americans are in a bitter fight to make the WHL Playoffs, and it starts Friday night vs. Seattle.  Here's how it breaks down:

*The Americans must beat Seattle and Spokane this weekend.  Period.

*Spokane has to lose Friday night to Portland, and Tri-Cities Saturday. Then, they would be tied with Americans. This would result in a tie-breaker game Tuesday at Toyota Center, March 22nd.

*If Spokane wins Friday, then Portland would need to lose all three of their games, Friday, Saturday AND Sunday. IF that happens, then the Americans would play the Winterhawks in that tie-breaker game Tuesday at Toyota.

*Whoever wins this round-robin scenario grabs the 8th and final playoff berth in the West. It's ironic, at least two teams in the Eastern Division will enter the post-season with LOSING records. Three other teams in the East finished under .500.

The reward for all this? A first-round date with the defending WHL, and 2016 Western Conference leading Kelowna Rockets.  Wheee!  But at least they would make the show.  Go Ams!
