According to authorities, the crash may have occurred during an attempted pass by one of the deceased drivers.

34-year-old Kyaw Na was Eastbound on Highway 124, about 9 miles east of Burbank when he collided head-on with a vehicle driven by John Wayne Dillon, 63, of Burbank.  Na and Dillon died instantly said investigators.

The crash likely occurred when Na was trying to pass another vehicle on the two-lane highway, and rammed straight into the Pontiac driven by Dillon.  Three other passengers in Na's car were hurt, 22-year-old Sha Be, Pae Moo age 45 and 24-year old Win Paw. Two of them suffered life-threatening injuries, another a broken femur, but authorities didn't say who suffered what injuries.

The 4:20 am crash occurred while Na was on his route delivering papers for the Tri-City Herald.  Authorities say drugs or alcohol were NOT a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues.
