Dr. Charles C. Sung of Retina Laser Eye Center has been accused by the state Medical Quality Assurance Commission of "berating, belittling and insulting other health care providers on staff."

Dr. Sung has one month to respond to the charges by the commission. His medical license will stay active and he can continue practicing medicine while under investigation. He is still listed on the office's website.

The charges say Dr. Sung used "crude language and screamed" at employees when he thought they made mistakes. Those actions caused a climate for increased errors that had an impact on patient safety, according to reports.

There are multiple reports of Dr. Sung physically assaulting other employees by either physically blocking their path or even hitting them in the arm.

He also allegedly had un-credentialed workers helping with procedures and ignored his employee complaints.
