Two 20 year old men have been arrested in Pendleton in connection with a series of car thefts.

Jeffrey Allen Smith and Cody Dean Lee were taken into custody by officers and are believed to be responsible for a string of car thefts over the last few months.   The vehicles were later discovered scattere at various areas around the county, and had been burned.  Umatilla County Sherriffs said they had suspected the men, but until new evidence came to light, had not been able to arrest them.  They are facing at least 12 counts in the case.
