Authorities still don't know the motive behind a 67-year-old man shooting another outside a Prosser market early Friday morning, but the suspect is in custody.

Around 5:45am, Benton County Deputies and Prosser Police responded to a report of a shooting at the McCorkle's Market, located at the intersection of The Old Inland Empire Highway and Rothrock and Foisy Roads.

34-year-old Guilllermo  Salas Lozano was shot, but able to get into the building, and was reportedly alert and awake when he was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. He has since been flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, but his updated condition is not known.

67-year-old Lucio R. Perez, of Prosser, was arrested a short time later, and has been charged with First Degree Attempted Murder.  Deputies were able to identify a suspect from people at the market, and soon surrounded a home located about a quarter of a mile from the market.  Perez then surrendered to authorities.
