Saturday, the man fell from a pontoon boat in Moses Lake Sunday night.

Authorities say 56-year-old John Walsh and his wife were on board a 22-foot pontoon boat that was on the water between Parker Horn and Lewis Horn on the lake.

He was trying to move deck lines, but fell overboard. His wife threw him a life preserver, but lost sight of him. She immediately stopped the engines and then called 911.  He was pulled from the water by Fire District #5 rescue workers in about 12 feet of water south of Goat Island.

He was taken to Samaritan Hospital after life saving measures were started immediately but was pronounced dead at the hospital.
