John Reed, considered the prime suspect in the April murder of an Arlington WA couple, has been captured and handed over to U.S. Authorities. The murder and subsequent chase grabbed national headlines.  Reed is at left in the picture.

Pima County Arizona officials are holding John Reed until he can be extradited to Snohomish County, but he's already been charged with aggravated murder.

Reed and his brother Tony were on the run from officials after the disappearance of Patrick Shunn and Monique Patenaude in April. He'd had disagreements with them over some property boundary issues, and after their disappearance, video surveillance footage showed Reed and his brother disposing of evidence.

Tony Reed turned himself in to authorities weeks ago, and gave them information leading to the discovery of the couple's bodies. Their vehicles had also been disposed of and found in a steep ravine near their home in Snohomish County.

Snohomish County prosecutors say the severity of the murder charges stem from evidence the couple was shot execution style and the harshness of the crime. Reed was captured by Mexican officials and booked into the Pima County Jail Thursday evening.
