After residents voted down a bond measure to improve Walla Walla schools, the delayed a similar bond to renovate the high school and has not said when another will be put before voters.

The board did not give specifics as to why the vote, which was supposed to occur in April, will be delayed but the move would have been necessary to file by March 8. A press release issued by the district contained the following information:

School Board President Anne Golden said the district will conduct more public meetings and work sessions to gather input and study additional options for modernizing the 50-year-old school.

"We need to put the Wa-Hi bond on hold and take in more input, said Anne Golden, School Board President. "We need to find out what people would like us to do and how much it is going to cost. We want the support of the community for Wa-Hi."
