After having to wait just over a year, a Walla Walla woman has been arrested and charged with murder in the August 2017 death of her partner.

According to Walla Walla police, Shylan Osborn was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting in the head of her partner David Cason.

Because investigators were waiting for crime lab results and other investigative data, it took just over a year, but evidence showed apparently it was not self-defense as she had claimed.

Osborn claimed it was self defense, but court documents show she apparently researched Washington State self-defense laws before she and Cason argued over money.  He died in their home August 29th 2017, after having been shot in the head 3 times. Osborn apparently had taken out a protective order against him in 2015.
