Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson has filed what is called a "friend of the court" briefing, concerning legal challenges to universal gun backround checks in Colorado.

Colorado is fighting a bill similar to I-594 that passed in Washington state.  Ferguson has offered logistical support to those who support what they call "reasonable" gun laws.

Ferguson says it's his job up to uphold the "will of the people."  While I-594 did pass, it was largely done so by Seattle-area voting, and gave voters the impression it was NOT about universal backround checks and other restrictive measures.

Washington state is currently trying to defend against a lawsuit seeking to overturn I-594.
