Technical mysteries plagued both state's healthcare exchanges Tuesday.

Technicians with the Washington Health Benefit Exchange, and Oregon's Cover Oregon website were mystified about technical issues that popped up during the first day of enrollment in the state exchanges.

The Cover Oregon system was not correctly determining eligibility for tax credits, and several other issues.  Officials say the Oregon site should be corrected sometime later in October.

The Washington health care exchange was experiencing unforseen slowdowns, to the point where the site ground to a halt for many who tried to access it.  Applicants had trouble finishing their applications, and the site had to be placed in a temporary maintenance mode.
