A mobile home fire on James Street in West Richland quickly turned into a grass fire.

Benton County Fire District 4 personnel went to the home around 1:30 p.m. on the 6800 block of James Street in the Desert Hills Manufactured Home Park near Tapteal Elementary School.

Initial reports suggest some kind of explosion went off at the home, possibly in the back, and caught it on fire.

Everyone inside the home got out safely, officials said.

The home appears to be mostly destroyed.

West Richland Police Captain Tom Grego said oxygen tanks were in the home, but they are not believed to be involved in this situation.
