It's a reflection of where our economic system is headed.

According to the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Washington (based out of Spokane), the most complained-about industry in 2014 was Internet Shopping, a catagory that didn't even make the top 5 in 2013.

Officials say it's a reflection of the explosion of internet sales and commerce. We've heard so much about how Black Friday in the brick-and-mortar stores is being challenged by Cyber Monday. Well, the growth of people buying goods and services online has spread over to the BBB.

In 2014, they had 236 official complaints about internet related sales, while Collection Agencies came in second at 187, up from #3 the year before.

Rounding out the top five were Auto Dealers - New Cars, followed by Property Management Companies(!) and #5 was Auto Dealers - Used Cars.

However, in a good sign, the BBB reports total complaints were down considerably to 3,764 from 4,923 in 2013. Officials say much of that is because consumers are becoming much more savvy and careful about purchases, business transactions and other such matters. They're taking the time to carefully investigate before they embark on business that involves their money and security, and that's good!
